FAQ

Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions, if you have any other enquiries then please contact us for more information.

Do I need to prepare the base for my shed?

No, we have a base laying service for all of our products and one year warranty included on all of this work.

Do I need planning permission for my new shed?

You do not need planning permission for a shed or outbuilding, as long as it meets the requirements. Your shed must be under 2.5 metres high, within 2 metres of a boundary or your house. However, if your house is listed you will need permission, and we’d advice to check with your local authorities if you are in any doubt about your local regulations.

Are windows and doors included in the price and do they come fitted?

Doors and windows are included with your buildings and do come fitted. They can be positioned to suit your needs.

Do I need to assemble my shed?

No, we can do this for you. We will assemble all our products for you, and if you are within 50 miles of our Exeter based office then delivery and assembly is free. If you prefer to assemble a shed yourself you’re welcome to do so.

What maintenance does my shed need?

All our sheds are treated with preservatives before delivery, general maintenance is required like making sure everything is as it should be on the roof and the timber. Roofs with guttering will need this cleared regularly, just as with a house.

Can I get electrics in my shed?

Yes, you can get electrics to your shed or office – we can install electrics for you as part of the installation, or you’re welcome to get your own electricians to do this work.

Are they insulated?

All our sheds and outbuildings can be altered to your preferences, so insulating your outbuilding is an option that you can take.

Is the roof felted?

All of our products can be customised to your needs, so yes we do offer felt roofing on our sheds, as well as plastic and timber.
